PROFILE

Chelsea Fruscello, CEA Principal

Chelsea is an appraiser with a dynamic background in both art history and the art market. She gained a deep appreciation for material culture through theory courses and time spent as an appraiser’s assistant and cataloguer. This awareness developed in tandem with an understanding of the art market, spending time at a major art show and multiple auction houses. She possesses a unique perspective when approaching appraisals, as she values the story behind a piece and its monetary assessment.

She attended Fordham University, receiving Bachelor’s degrees in both French Literature and Art History, with a concentration in Renaissance and Baroque art. She next earned a Master’s degree in American Fine and Decorative Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, focusing on oil painting. After gaining auction experience with Christie’s and Doyle New York, she returned to the Winter Antiques Show as Assistant Director.

Returning to Syracuse, Fruscello determined to create a career that was a culmination of her time in New York. She completed the Appraisers Association of America’s Comprehensive Appraisal Studies Program and became Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice compliant. Inspired by her love of the French language, Collectionneur Estate Appraisals was born.

Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) compliant through February 2024.
